What is NLP? (Neuro Linguistic Programming)

Trying to define NLP is always difficult as no two definitions are the same, however we shall try to highlight what we think is important.

NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) explores how we know what we know and how we do what we do. Neuro means brain, linguistic language and programming refers to coding. So in simpler terms it examines the relationship between thought, communication and behaviour.

NLP allows us to unpack how we do what we do, so if a client arrives with a belief or behaviour that is not helping them in their life, then using NLP and some of it’s techniques we can firstly highlight what is going on and then go about changing it.

There is a lot more to NLP than what we have described, however we feel that trying to explain it in more detail may just confuse the matter. One thing that all NLP practitioners will agree on is that it is a very powerful form of therapy.
